You Made It Work---Motivational Prompts For Writing and Journaling
Sometimes, all you need to do is remember the last time you made it work!
Ponder About a Time When You Made It Work:
Think back, no matter how recently or how back it is, to a specific time and situation where you faced difficulties that were a challenge but you ultimately found a way to make things work. Describe the situation in as much detail as you remember it, the obstacles you encountered, and the actions you took to overcome them. Be specific. How did it feel to succeed despite the challenges? What lessons did you learn and what insights did you gain from that experience? Describe it all in as much detail as possible.
Probe Your Inner Strength:
Consider the qualities, skills, abilities, talents or resources you have within that allowed you to make it work in the past. What personal strengths did you rely on? How did those strengths contribute to your success? Reflect on how you can tap into those inner resources in future endeavors. Are you a person of faith? Did that contribute to your victory? How? Explore and describe everything you did and how it worked for you.
Identify Existing Patterns of Success:
Take a broader perspective and identify patterns or commonalities in the times when you've made things work in your life and in your work or profession. Are there specific strategies, approaches, or mindsets that consistently help you overcome the challenges that come up? How can you apply those patterns to current or future situations? Again, does your faith have to do with those areas of strength and positive attitudes that helped you overcome barriers? How can the memory of past successes inspire and encourage you to have a positive outlook as you face the future?
Empower Others Through Your Story:
Stop to consider how the simple act of sharing your experiences of making it work could possibly help to inspire and empower others. Write a narrative or reflection that communicates your story of overcoming challenges, difficulties, and barriers, and finding success in the end. How might your story resonate with others? What would you tell them to encourage them in their discouragement? How can you use your experiences to encourage and support those who are facing similar obstacles and challenges and to stimulate them to persevere until they make it through?
Winning the Battle:
Think about a goal you've been struggling to achieve. Write about a time when you were successful in achieving a similar goal and what it took to achieve it. What strategies did you use, and how can you apply them to your current situation?
What Kept You Going?
Remember the last time you felt stuck or unsure of yourself. Write about how you were able to push through that feeling and make progress. What mindset or attitude helped you succeed? What kept you going? Was it hope? Was it your faith?
A Setback Doesn't Mean to Head Back:
Write about a time when you made a mistake or experienced a setback. What did you learn from that experience, and how did you use that knowledge to move forward? How did you push through and not head back to the point where you started, losing all your progress in the process?
Lessons From What You Accomplished:
Think about a time when you accomplished something. Write about what that accomplishment meant to you, and how you can use what you learned to motivate yourself in the future.
I share these prompts to encourage you to explore and draw inspiration from your past successes, thus encouraging you to stay positive and providing valuable insights for future endeavors.
Have fun writing!
