A Brand New Start

The following writing and/or journaling prompts encourage those who over-stress about their work and often suffer from paralysis from overthinking everything before they take any step forward.  Ask yourself, what would the worst-case scenario if you took the step you are afraid of taking? What would the best-case scenario if you actually took action? What would be the most likely outcome if you took action? What is really holding you back? What would be the next logical step you can take toward your goal? What are three things I can do to make sure you're taking care of business today? What is one simple thing you can do to simplify your workload? Is there even one thing you can delegate to someone else? Are you afraid of letting go? Do you find it difficult to delegate? What is one thing that is not serving you well that you can logically let go of? What is one thing you enjoy about your work? What are you grateful for in your work? Can you make a list of milestones in your...

Running Through the Sprinklers

Image
When was the last time that finishing a project made you feel like running through the sprinkles? Don't lose the joy of what you do, because it will lose its ability to be special to you, and to others. Has it lost its sparkle and excitement? Do you have to grit your teeth to keep doing it?  Has it lost its joy? How will you recover it? Write about it. Stand bravely on the other side of fear and insecurity.  Move toward accomplishment, daring not to be  afraid of failure. You can learn from failure, but  you cannot learn from paralysis. Even your failures can act as propellers to move  you forward if you would let them. As you strive to move forward, your strengths and your  talents will become more and more apparent to you  and others. Write about this.

You Made It Work---Motivational Prompts For Writing and Journaling

Sometimes, all you need to do is remember the last time you made it work! Ponder About a Time When You Made It Work: Think back, no matter how recently or how back it is, to a specific time and situation where you faced difficulties that were a challenge but you ultimately found a way to make things work. Describe the situation in as much detail as you remember it, the obstacles you encountered, and the actions you took to overcome them. Be specific. How did it feel to succeed despite the challenges? What lessons did you learn and what insights did you gain from that experience? Describe it all in as much detail as possible. Probe Your Inner Strength: Consider the qualities, skills, abilities, talents or resources you have within that allowed you to make it work in the past. What personal strengths did you rely on? How did those strengths contribute to your success? Reflect on how you can tap into those inner resources in future endeavors. Are you a person of faith? Did that contribute...
